Why Blog?

When I was little, I loved the Harriet the Spy books. Such a cool thing to do, I thought. However, unlike Harriet, I don't wish to spy. My intent is just to share the thoughts and rambles of my mind.
Being single, sometimes there is no one to whom to ramble away. Well, there is Heavenly Father, He is always listening. Prayer is definitely an essential. It is wonderful that we have this method by which to communicate with God. But sometimes, it is nice to have a chance to just speak our mind.
At work, we are so busy that it is hard to talk. I'll be waiting to talk to someone and either the phone or another person will interrupt. Something else will inevitable come up. (It is ok, they have priority). At Church, I will finally be chatting w/somene and someone else will come by to either talk w/me or the person w/whom I am speaking. Happened in grad school too. I was having a conversation w/a guy I liked when another girl came by to talk w/that guy, thus effectively severing my conversation. Oh well.
Then there are conversations that are limited due to time. For example, in Church, you may have soemthing to say in Relief Society, but the time is running out. (RS is the women's organization in the LDS Church. A lesson/discussion is presented and comments are shared. A roomful of chatty women can make it hard. Othertimes though, no one speaks up). Other conversations are shortened due to other life demands of either me or to whom I am speaking, such as my sis has to go take care of her kids, etc. Those are ok, good interruptions.
Other times I have written letters to the Editor. However, they haven't been published. Well, except for a couple. One example was the goofy one I wrote to a local newspaper in defense of my high school science club. They had accused us of copying the idea for publication of a high school science magazine, well , we set them straight.
Other times when I wrote nonpublished letters, it is frustrating that I spent time to no avail. Like when I wrote to Wahsington Post critixizing them for soemthing negative they said about my Church. Same thing in writing to companies to complain. I recently sent a complaint to CBS about something negative they portrayed, no response from them.
I like the Nauvoo forums as people say what we want. The boards are well-moderated and I learn much from the diversity of opinions.
But back to the interruptions. I don't mind interruptions, it is just that my brain forgets what was going on prior to the interruption. So here, it will hopefully be a good opportunity for me to say what I want to say, without all the interruptions. I can comment on what I want.
And even if no one reads my enteries, I can have the illusion that somewhere out there on this big blue planet, someone, somewhere, is reading what I have to say. I will now interrupt, nah I will just sign off, to go make my dinner.
