Today I feel glad that my olfactory nerve is working!

Sometimes there are bad smells. When there are bad smells, perhaps not having a working olfactory nerve might be deemed a positive thing. (ie that awful bridge in Nitro, WVA, if it still exists. That was truly an absolutely horrible smell. We lived in WWVA 1978-1980 and that Nitro bridge went over the world's smelliest chemical plant. I feel bad for anyone who lived or worked near that bridge and chemical plant. People could actually be seen holding their nose as they drove over that bridge, no kidding!!!)
Anyway, as I said in the last post, I had a busy day. Plus, I just didn't feel hungry. So on Sunday, I ended up not eating much. Finally I made a baked potato- and then forgot about it, that is until I could smell that it was ready. Yikes, I'd totally forgotten that I had made a potato! Yah, I should have used a timer. But in the absence of using a timer, I am grateful my olfactory nerve was functionning just fine. Otherwise, perhaps there is a chance I'd be dealing with the smell of a burned potatoe or fire in this home, instead of writing this post about the gratitude I have for my faithful olfactory nerve!
PS: look what I found, a quote from this site that supports the terrible smell of the Nitro bridge:
"It sits next to the Monstanto Chemical plant. The "Nitro Bridge" is famous even outside of WV as you get the smell of chemicals (rotten egg smell) when you cross it... living in parts of Nitro gets you the same smell".
