Today I have been recalling some communications with people who are blunt.
Some of my coworkers and I have been participating in a Biggest Loser Challenge. Every Friday we weigh ourselves and report in. Lately I've been the heaviest I've ever been though I am down approximately 11 pounds from when we started the contest.
So today I weighed myself on one of the scales at work. One of the nurses was standing next to the right side of the scale as she worked on her duties. So as I got on the scale I jokingly told this nurse "don't look to the left." The nurse told me something like "I have a big butt too." Seriously?? Whatever. Yeah I know I am heavy, I get that. But I just find it funny that someone could be so blunt! So we talked for a moment and she just said it is true that we both have a big derriere..
I think what bothered me is that I have just considered that person's talent as a nurse, she is a good capable nurse. I think it can hurt when people look on the outside and don't consider the inside.
Oh well! Whatever!
