A few years ago, in the nursing home where I work, I saw this wonderful essay posted on one of the bulletin boards. One of our nurses, Colleen, had posted it. This awesome essay is titled, "the Golden Rule Revisited" by Dr. Edwin Leap. Since discovering the essay, when I get a chance, I like to share it with others. I love this essay, it is one of my most favorite essays in the world. Not that I've read that many essays. But this essay really makes you think of what it means to be human and treat everyone you meet the same way that you'd want someone to treat your loved ones, especially your children. This essay truly sheds additional light into the Golden Rule. As you will see in the essay, though Dr.Leap writes from his perspective as an emergency room doctor, the lessons of his story apply to all of us in whatever job we do.
