Thank-YOU Starbucks!

Today I am grateful for many things, including the Starbucks on N. Lynn St. in Arlington, VA. I was volunteering at a fundraising race at a nearby park. The proceeds of this race will be used to purchase supplies to benefit some of the poorest people in the world during an upcoming service trip to Guatamala. (And yeah, I'm excited about the fact that I'm going to be going!! More on that in some post. My tax refund arrived today and now I can go ahead and pay for this!)

My task at the race was to help w/the food table for the runners/walkers following the run! However, we forgot to get napkins and wanted bigger trash bags. So I went to a nearby major fast food restaurant to ask for a donation of napkins, this place said they had to deny this request as they said they were on short supply of these items. OK. I will respect this. I know I need to be more generous in sharing with others. But it made me kind of sad they said no since I go to their restaurant frequently. Plus it was getting close to the time for the race to commence-- and so I needed these things ASAP. (and since I needed to go to the bank following the race, I didn't have cash w/me)

Another restaurant hadn't yet opened..so I checked Starbucks. Their manager immedietely and cheerfully agreed to give the needed items! I am grateful for the kindness and generosity in giving us these needed items! They donated several hundred napkins, several trash bags and some plastic knives!

Thanks again!
