In this world, of necessity, an abundance of acronyms abound due to diversity of things going on in the world. Every field has its own unique acronyms.
Sometimes these terms can be funny! For instance, consider the accorym SOB. In medical language it means "Shortness of Breath", ie the patient demonstarated SOB with exertion. Yet my Dad, an engineer, got a good laugh some time ago when he learned the medical connotation, for you know what the bad connotation of SOB means.

So what is a UCT? I coined this acronym based on wisdom I learned from a dear lady. As you know, I work in a nursing home. Some time ago, I worked with a wonderful lady who had never married. She came to us weak and determined to improve and resume her life. She always had a big smile. Of interest, this lady also loved wearing big earrings.
In telling me that she had never married, this lady stated she felt she was an "unclaimed treasure"...what a great perspective on being single! I absolutely love that concept!
I recall in high school that I always dreaded gym class, for most of the time I was among the last picked for a team. ( I hope schools no longer force kids to endure that painful process, hopefully they have come up with more creative methods of choosing team members- such should be required by law). For any not familiar with this demeaning process, two team captains are chosen and the captiains take turns choosing their team members. As a person was picked, the person would walk over to their team.
Meanwhile, those of us who remained would sit feeling embarassed. Usually we looked at the floor. Then oft times, the last of us would get to choose our own team. At the time, it hurt. Though in retrospect, that experience I think helped me be more sensitive to try to do a good job at including others.
Being single at this age is sometimes reminds me of the pain I used to feel for not being picked in gym class.
I love the idea of thinking of myself as an "unclaimed treasure"

In thinking of oneself as such a treasure, it raises self-esteem, self-worth and reminds one of the divinity and goodness within even if a guy hasn't recognized or wanted those qualities.
I think that all of us who are single should perceive ourselves as a wonderful UCT's- we are precious "unclaimed treasure"- just a thought!
