I feel lots of gratitude for Heavenly Father tonight and for His help and protection in my life.
Tonight a church friend and I had planned to do something related to a mutual church assignment. Shortly before we would have worked on the assignment, my friend called and told me she would not be able to do this after all- for her glass shelves from her dining room cabinet and just suddenly fallen! Sadly, this resulted in many of the beautiful contents of her shelves tumbling to their deaths on her dining room floor. How sad I felt for her!
I offered to help clean up, and my friend accepted my help. While we were cleaning, one of the tiny pieces of glass flew up to my right eye. ( I think this happened because in picking up the pieces, I was probably moving my hand too fast). I could feel the sliver in the bottom of my eye. My friend provided me with some Visine, and she poured it into my eye. This resulted in the glass piece moving in such as way that I was able to grab the piece and pull it out.
I am so grateful that my eye wasn't damaged in this incident! I know that so many people suffer serious injuries in life. I am extremely grateful to Heavenly Father that in this incident that I did not suffer an injury.
And if you ever pick up glass, just in case, be sure to wear eye goggles! I have some. Somewhere.
Finally, in case it ever helps anyone, here are some helpful links on how to clean up glass, specifically glass that is on carpet!
